Anna Stempin-Jasnowska - pianist, Senior Lecturer in the Chair of Piano in the
Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
Born in Wrocław, Anna Stempin-Jasnowska studied with MA Maria Kokotajło in the Karol Szymanowski Secondary School of Music where she received diploma with honors. She also won many awards and prizes at the Youth and Children's piano competitions.
From 1990 to 1992 she continued to study the piano at the Academy of Music in Katowice with prof. Czesław Stańczyk and since 1992 at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz with prof. Tatiana Shebanova. She graduated in 1996 (honours degree).
Later she worked in the Chair of Piano in the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz as assistant of prof. Tatiana Shebanova and prof. Jerzy Sulikowski. In 2000 she received, as scholarship-holder of French Government, post-graduate degree in prof. Indjic’s master piano class in Paris.
Anna Stempin-Jasnowska is prizewinner of many piano competitions: The Frederic Chopin Artistic Scholarships National Piano Competition (three times: 1991, 1992, 1994), The "Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe" - Scholarship Competition, The III International Karol Szymanowski Piano Competition (third prize) and The I National Chamber Music Competition in Zakopane (1998). In 1995 she took part in The XIII International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. She was scholarship holder of Department of Arts and Culture twice (1993/94, 1994/95).
She performed concerts in Poland, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Switzerland and also in Liban at the invitation of ONZ.
Her artistic creations she prepares thinking about contemporary audience but also performs works in ways similar to how they may have been performed when they were originally written. She pays special attention to tone quality which is one of the most important elements of music performance and helps in generating musical expression. The modern piano makes changing tone quality easier.
Mrs. Stempin-Jasnowska is also a consummate chamber pianist who performs piano duo, duets for piano and violin or piano and cello. In 2005 she performed J.S.Bach "Die Kunst der Fuge" transcription for two pianos polish premiere.
She took an active role as organizer of musical events. In 1994, 1995,1996, 1997 she was initiator and Artistic Director of the Students Piano Festival "Forte-Piano". In 1998 she was secretary of the IV International I. J. Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz.
She has also recorded for the Polish Radio.
Her piano skills she has improved during Championship Piano Courses in Poland and abroad where she was working with prof. Tatiana Shebanova (Szebanowa), prof. Eugene Indjic, Wiktor Mierżanow and Lee Kum Sing.
Anna Stempin- Jasnowska has PhD in arts, currently works as a Senior Lecturer in the Chair of Piano in the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
